Karuppu's Release After Delays
The highly anticipated Tamil film Karuppu, featuring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, has officially premiered in theatres today. This release follows a series of delays and cancellations that affected screenings across Tamil Nadu. Initially scheduled for May 14, the film's debut was postponed due to financial issues and outstanding payments, despite receiving approval for special morning shows from Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. Finally, on May 15, the film was able to grace the screens. To commemorate this significant occasion, the cast and crew of Karuppu made an appearance at a well-known theatre in Chennai, with director RJ Balaji, lead actress Trisha, and music composer Sai Abhyankkar in attendance. Karthi represented his brother Suriya at the event.

Reasons Behind Karuppu's Delay
Karuppu Delay Reason
Karuppu was released on May 15, 2026, a day later than its intended premiere on May 14. The unexpected delay was attributed to financial difficulties faced by the production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, which resulted in last-minute cancellations and hindered the film's timely screening. The film is produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Suriya portrays Saravanan, a character inspired by his real name, while Trisha plays Preethi. The cast also includes Natty Natraj, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy, among others.
