Suri Cruise Embraces a New Identity
Los Angeles: In a significant personal decision, Suri Cruise, the daughter of Hollywood star Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes, has officially changed her last name from Cruise to Noelle.
At just 20 years old, Suri made this change as reflected in voter registration documents accessed by people.com.
Currently enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Suri registered to vote in Allegheny County during her freshman year in October 2024, listing her name as Suri Noelle. Notably, Noelle is also the middle name of her mother, Katie Holmes.
Suri was born in April 2006, and her parents married later that year in November before their divorce in 2012.
Before adopting her new name for voting purposes, Suri had already used Noelle during her high school graduation in June 2024. Coincidentally, that same weekend, her father was spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour at Wembley Stadium in London.
In a rare moment of reflection, Holmes expressed her pride in Suri's achievements during an interview with Town & Country, stating, “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.”
She reminisced about her own youth, saying, “I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
In December 2024, Holmes addressed speculation regarding Suri’s relationship with her father, denying rumors that Suri had inherited a trust fund from Cruise.
