Sunny Deol's Heartfelt Message on Patriotism

Mumbai, Dec 16: Actor Sunny Deol recently shared his views on patriotism, expressing his faith in the younger generation's ability to uphold the nation's values.

At the launch event for the teaser of “Border 2,” the actor, known for his role in ‘Jaat,’ commended Gen Z for their potential to continue the legacy of safeguarding the country, just as their predecessors did. When asked about what patriotism means to him personally, Sunny conveyed a heartfelt message about the importance of Gen Z in preserving and honoring the nation.

He remarked, “The country is akin to our mother, and today’s youth also regard it as such. They will defend it just like their fathers and grandfathers did. I believe today’s youth will rise to the occasion. We refer to them as Gen Z, but they are still children at heart.”

During his speech, Sunny became emotional and shed tears while reciting one of his famous lines from a film. As he delivered the impactful dialogue, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye? Lahore tak,” his eyes filled with tears, showcasing his deep emotional connection to the subject. This event also marked his first public appearance after the passing of his father, the iconic actor Dharmendra.

Coinciding with Vijay Diwas, the creators of “Border 2” released the much-anticipated teaser at a lavish event in Mumbai, attended by the film's leading cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty.

Directed by Anurag Singh, this war drama stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in prominent roles, with Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Angad Singh, Guneet Sandhu, and Paramvir Cheema in supporting roles. The film serves as a sequel to ‘Border,’ which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

“Border 2,” inspired by the events of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026.
