Suneil Anand was born on June 30, 1956, in Zurich, Switzerland, while his parents, Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik, were attending a film festival. He pursued his education in the United States, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Additionally, he trained in Wing Tsun martial arts in Hong Kong before returning to the film industry. His father introduced him to Bollywood with the 1984 film Anand Aur Anand, which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. Suneil later appeared in a few other films, such as Car Thief and Main Tere Liye, but none significantly advanced his acting career. After realizing acting was not his path, Suneil shifted his focus to film production, taking charge of his father's production company, Navketan Films, based in Mumbai.
