Following the climactic multiverse showdown that included appearances from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, a spell was cast to erase the memories of Peter Parker from everyone. The multiverse rift was subsequently sealed by Doctor Strange, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch.

During an interview with podcaster Josh Horowitz from Happy Sad Confused, Tom Holland provided insights into Peter Parker's challenging circumstances in Brand New Day. He described Peter as being "at the beginning of the darkest chapter of his life." Holland elaborated that Peter serves as a cautionary example of the risks associated with isolation and the absence of a support system. He noted, "A lesson he learned from Andrew's character in the previous movie is that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is ask for help, which he is currently ignoring, leading to significant consequences in his life." In contrast, Spider-Man is thriving, with Holland stating, "We’re likely witnessing the most authentic representation of Spider-Man's significance to New York City. The interplay between these two aspects is incredibly enjoyable to explore."
