These speculations arose during the promotional activities for the film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Tovino quickly dismissed these claims, emphasizing the strong friendship he shares with Dulquer. During a promotional event for Pallichattambi, directed by Dijo Jose Antony and featuring Kayadu Lohar, Tovino was asked about the lack of emphasis on his name in the promotions for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. A reporter suggested this might indicate a disagreement with Dulquer Salmaan. Tovino humorously brushed off the inquiry, indicating that he would inquire with the filmmakers about the promotional choices, thus clarifying that there was no basis for the rumors.

Further elaborating, Tovino recounted his early days in the industry, starting as an assistant director on Dulquer’s film Theevram. He also mentioned their collaboration in ABCD, where he portrayed a negative character.
