About VA Durai and Pithamgan movie
VA Durai produced Suriya's blockbuster film Pithamgan directed by Bala. The film stars Vikram, Suraiya, Laila and Sangeeta. Peethamgan, released in 2003, became one of the biggest hits in Tamil. The film also won the National Award, Filmfare Award and more.

VA Durai owns the Evergreen Movie International production and distribution company and collaborated on multiple ventures with actor Sathyaraj and director Sakthi Chidambaram in the early 2000s, before running into financial trouble with the production of Bala's Pitamagan (2003). According to reports, Bala exceeded the agreed budget, which led the producer to settle the payment. After that, it was also said that the producer had also paid Rs 25 lakh to director Bala for his upcoming film. But the film could not be made and the director also did not return the payment to Durai. After 19 years, the producer filed a court case against Bala for his money and protested at his office.
