Pradeep Ranganathan has garnered significant acclaim for his films Dude and Dragon, resonating not only with Tamil audiences but also in Telugu-speaking regions. The production team has now confirmed that his next project, LIK, will be released in both Tamil and Telugu, much to the excitement of his fans. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, this film faced delays primarily due to financial challenges.
LIK's Release Date Announced
Pradeep Ranganathan’s science fiction film LIK has officially set its release date for April 10, 2026. After the initial teaser was shared in Tamil seven months ago, the Telugu teaser was recently launched by Rana Daggubati on social media, sparking enthusiasm among fans. The film is confirmed to debut simultaneously in both languages.
Originally, LIK was scheduled for release on October 17, 2025, to align with Diwali festivities. However, the date was pushed back to prevent a clash with Pradeep’s other film, Dude, which is also set for a festive release. A tentative date of December 18, 2025, was later proposed before finalizing April 10, 2026, as the confirmed release date. Following the success of the first single, Dheema Dheema, the team has now released the second single, Pattuma, a light-hearted romantic track featuring Pradeep and Krithi Shetty. Composed by Anirudh, with lyrics by Vignesh Shivan and vocals by Anirudh and Ananthakrrishnan, this song adds a delightful touch to the film's soundtrack.
Overview of LIK's Plot
Set in the year 2040, LIK envisions a future where love can be insured. A company creates an app that assesses relationship risks, forecasts their outcomes, and even influences them. The narrative follows a man whose relationship is deemed doomed by the app. As it starts to meddle in his personal affairs, he realizes that it manipulates love rather than just predicting it, highlighting the conflict between emotional instincts and technological reliance.
In addition to Pradeep Ranganathan, the film features SJ Suryah and Krithi Shetty, with support from Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj, and Sunil Reddy. The technical team includes renowned professionals: Anirudh as the music composer, Ravi Varman for cinematography, Pradeep E Ragav for editing, T Muthuraj for production design, and Peter Hein for stunt choreography. LIK is produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under Rowdy Pictures, in collaboration with SS Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio. Vignesh Shivan's previous work includes the romantic comedy Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which was released on April 28, 2022.
