Kaathal - The Core: Mammootty and Jyotika's film gets a release date

Malayalam cinema megastar Mammootty joins hands with popular actress Jyothika and acclaimed director Jio Baby for the first time in his career. The highly talented trio is coming together for the much awaited upcoming social drama, titled Kathal - The Core. Although nothing more has been revealed about the plot of the project or the characters played by Mammootty and Jyotika, it has been confirmed that the pair are playing a married couple in the film.

Kaathal - The Core gets a release date?
As per the latest reports, the much anticipated project has now got a release date. Latest updates suggest that Kaathal - The Core is slated to hit the theaters on May 11 this year. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that the makers have started charting theaters across Kerala for Mammootty and Jyotika's social drama. Director Geo Baby and his team are now busy with the final round of post-production work of Kathal - The Core. The official announcement regarding the release date of the film is expected to be made in a few days.

As reported earlier, Mammootty is essaying the role of Mathew Devasi, a Communist Party member from Tikoy, a small town in Kerala, in the highly anticipated film. On the other hand, Jyotika is seen in the role of Mathew Devasi's wife in this film. Just like director Geo Baby's previous outing, The Great Indian Kitchen, Kathal - The Core is touted as a social drama. The film has a star cast including Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Koppa and others in supporting roles. Salu K Thomas is the director of photography. Mathews Pulican composed the lyrics and the original score. Directed by Jio Baby, bankrolled by the Mammootty campaign, it is distributed by Dulquer Salmaan's production banner Wayfarer Films.
