Reports indicate that the Indian release will undergo 12 edits, including the removal of two profanity-laden words. Vijay, now the Chief Minister under the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party, has had references to his character, Thalapathy Vetri Kondan (TVK), altered. The CBFC required modifications to a dialogue at the 110:23-minute mark, eliminating the mention of TVK from both audio and visuals while keeping the runtime intact.

Some dialogues were muted, including those with body-related references and the phrase 'India la kalla virala vaikarne.' A scene featuring a child being burned was cut, and the term 'Siluvaila' was muted, with the character name 'Sheela Rani' being changed.
