However, the past six months have brought significant changes for the actor, who is now serving as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Supporters who once cheered for 'Thalapathy' are now referring to him as CM C Joseph Vijay. After much anticipation, Jana Nayagan is set to premiere in the U.K. on July 24. While the film's release date in India remains unconfirmed, it has received an A-rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The U.K. release of Jana Nayagan will not include the cuts mandated for its Indian version. Reports indicate that the Indian release will undergo 12 edits, including the removal of two profanity-laden words. Vijay, now the Chief Minister under the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party, has had references to his character, Thalapathy Vetri Kondan (TVK), altered. The CBFC required modifications to a dialogue at the 110:23-minute mark, eliminating the mention of TVK from both audio and visuals while keeping the runtime intact.

Some dialogues were muted, including those with body-related references and the phrase 'India la kalla virala vaikarne.' A scene featuring a child being burned was cut, and the term 'Siluvaila' was muted, with the character name 'Sheela Rani' being changed.
