Sonu Nigam's Determination Amid Health Struggles
Indian vocalist Sonu Nigam exemplifies the spirit of perseverance, continuing to fulfill his performance obligations despite facing a nerve-related ailment. Recently, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from fans who recognized his dedication to performing through 'excruciating pain'. The renowned singer, known for his hit song Kal Ho Naa Ho, shared insights into the possible causes of his health issues, revealing that he had been struggling for the past three weeks.
Sonu Nigam Discusses His Health Challenges
In a conversation with a media outlet, Sonu Nigam explained, "I suspect that an incorrect workout or staying in one position for too long might have led to this. Even a slight turn of my head would cause intense discomfort." He mentioned that while doctors prescribed pain relief medication, he understood that he needed more than just medication to recover.
During a recent trip to Delhi for an awards ceremony, he realized he was unable to perform. Fortunately, director Pankaj Parashar assisted him in finding a skilled doctor, leading to a rigorous physical therapy regimen. "The doctor worked with me for two and a half hours daily, which significantly improved my condition," he noted. Now, he is ready to return to Mumbai and resume his work. Sonu reflected on how years of practice helped him navigate this setback, admitting he felt anxious about how his voice would hold up on stage, but was relieved to find it was unaffected.
Sonu Nigam's Commitment to His Craft
In closing, Sonu emphasized that his profession does not allow for substitutes; he cannot send someone else to perform in his place if he is unwell. "For me, canceling a concert is simply not an option. I’ve never done it, even when I’ve had a sore throat," the 52-year-old artist stated. On the professional front, Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to numerous popular tracks, including Suraj Hua Maddham, Saathiya, Satrangi Re, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Mere Haath Mein, Pardesiya, Main Agar Kahoon, You Are My Soniya, among others. We wish him a swift recovery and look forward to seeing him perform live again!
