Shraddha Kapoor Returns with 'Eetha'

Fans of Shraddha Kapoor have expressed their disappointment over her limited film appearances compared to her peers, yet they continue to support her choice of projects. After a two-year hiatus following Stree 2, she is set to make her comeback in Laxman Utekar’s Eetha, a film inspired by the life of the celebrated Tamasha performer, Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Kapoor has been dedicated to this biopic since 2025 and completed filming earlier this year. Reports suggest that she has increased her fee for Eetha, having previously earned less than Rajkummar Rao for Stree 2.

Controversy Surrounding 'Eetha' Title

Controversy Over 'Eetha' Title

Recently, Eetha encountered controversy when the Nationalist Congress Party's Film and Cultural Department (NCP Chitrapat va Sanskrutik Vibhag) objected to its title. Members of the party argue that 'Eetha' fails to honor Vithabai's legacy, questioning why the film wasn't named after her, such as 'Vitha' or 'Vithabai'. They assert that Vithabai Narayangaonkar was not merely a folk artist but a significant figure in Maharashtra's cultural heritage.

Vithabai’s family, including her sons Kailash and Rajesh Narayangaonkar, along with her grandson Mohit, have supported the NCP's call for a title change.
