In a candid discussion, Shilpa shared that her complaint stemmed from feeling trapped and believing she had no alternatives. She also mentioned the pressure she faced to sign an exclusive contract that she found unacceptable.

Reflecting on the past, Shilpa noted that public opinion about her has been polarized over the years. While some view her as brave, others see her actions as hasty. She described her decision to leave Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain during its peak popularity as one of the hardest choices she has ever made. Nonetheless, she believes it required courage to step away from a successful project when she felt uncomfortable with the surrounding circumstances.
Shilpa explained that the primary issue was an exclusive contract she felt coerced into signing. She claimed that the contract would have limited her ability to seek other opportunities and negotiate better pay in the future. "The intention was to intimidate me. I was being pressured to sign a contract that would restrict my ability to work elsewhere. It was a complete bond designed to keep me under control and unable to negotiate for higher compensation," she stated.
Shilpa recounted that tensions escalated significantly after she refused to sign the contract. She alleged that the producers abruptly changed her shooting schedule and rushed the filming of several episodes. She claimed that nearly ten episodes were filmed within just two days. Shortly after, she was informed that her presence on set was no longer required, without any clear explanation.
The actress expressed that she felt the situation was designed to pressure her into compliance. Shilpa further claimed that she faced direct threats when she continued to reject the exclusive agreement. She recalled being told that if she did not accept the contract, she could leave the show. This ultimatum shocked her, leading her to choose to walk away instead of accepting the terms.
Shilpa Shinde Admits to Filing an Inaccurate Complaint
"At that time, I filed a complaint regarding misconduct against my producer because I felt I had no other options left," she revealed. Shilpa acknowledged that she believed all professional avenues were closed to her, making the complaint seem like the only escape. With her background in law, she understood the legal process involved.
"Today, I want to clarify that the allegations I made were not accurate. I am admitting this for the first time," she stated. Shilpa explained that the dispute was eventually resolved between both parties, resulting in her receiving outstanding payments and an agreement that neither side would publicly discuss the matter.
More than a decade later, Shilpa feels comfortable discussing the events that transpired. Interestingly, despite the challenging fallout, she revealed that her relationship with the producers improved over time, and she even collaborated with them again after the dispute was settled.
