Earlier, Shatrughan Sinha paid tribute to the legendary Raj Kapoor on his birth anniversary through a heartfelt post on social media.
He referred to Kapoor as a significant source of inspiration, stating on his X timeline, "Forever in our hearts, thinking of you today, 'the greatest showman' legendary and best #RajKapoor, a great source of inspiration for me always (sic)."
He also reminisced about their collaboration in the 1976 film Khaan Dost, saying, "Reflecting on our work together in Khaan Dost, you are truly missed. My deepest respects to the Kapoor family. Long Live Raj Kapoor! #BirthAnniversary."
Directed by Dulal Guha, Khaan Dost tells the story of Ramdin Pandey (played by Raj Kapoor), a naive constable in Nasik who faces financial struggles. His life changes dramatically when he is persuaded by a notorious inmate, Rehmat Khan (played by Shatrughan), to assist in an escape.
Raj Kapoor began his acting career at the tender age of 10 with the 1935 film Inquilab.
