Shah Rukh Khan's Met Gala Debut

New Delhi: Iconic actor Shah Rukh Khan made a remarkable entrance at the 2025 Met Gala, showcasing a custom black suit designed by the renowned Sabyasachi, who was also present at the prestigious event.

Adorning a crystal-studded pendant shaped like the letter 'K', a tribute to his nickname 'King Khan', and carrying a stylish cane, the star charmed the audience with his signature pose on the blue carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday night.

This year's Met Gala theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," was interpreted by Sabyasachi as a celebration of Black Dandyism, emphasizing self-expression that challenges societal, racial, and gender conventions.

"Shah Rukh Khan stands as one of the world's most celebrated superstars. His cinematic prowess and charismatic presence have garnered him a legendary global fanbase," the designer remarked.

"My vision of the Black Dandy showcases his stardom on an international platform. Clad in classic menswear with Sabyasachi's maximalist touch, Shah Rukh Khan embodies the essence of a magician, superstar, and icon," he added in a statement shared on his brand's official Instagram.

For his inaugural appearance at the Met Gala, Shah Rukh donned a long, tailored coat made from Tasmanian superfine wool, featuring monogrammed Japanese horn buttons.

"The coat is meticulously hand canvassed, single-breasted, with a peak collar and wide lapels. It is paired with a silk crepe de chine shirt and finely tailored wool trousers, complemented by a pleated satin kamarbandh," the designer elaborated.

In addition to his outfit, Shah Rukh showcased a custom stack designed by Sabyasachi, along with a Bengal Tiger Head Cane crafted from 18k gold, adorned with tourmalines, sapphires, and a mix of old mine and brilliant cut diamonds.

The superstar arrived in New York on Saturday, with his collaboration with Sabyasachi confirmed by his manager, Pooja Dadlani, on Monday morning.
