Joining other Bollywood stars like Zeenat Aman, Omi Vaidya, Abhay Deol, and Swara Bhasker, Azmi shared a heartfelt message in Hindi on Instagram, encouraging Wangchuk to conclude his protest for the future of education in India. She praised him as a champion for student rights and expressed her solidarity with his mission. The actress also posted a photo of Wangchuk, who appeared weak while advocating for a significant cause.

She stated, “In respect of Mr. Wangchuk’s wishes, I urge the Indian government to engage in dialogue regarding this issue that affects the future of our nation. Reasons Behind Sonam Wangchuk's Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has been conducting a sustained protest at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to alleged irregularities in examinations, particularly concerning the NEET paper leak. The group has planned a march to Parliament on July 20. Wangchuk joined the protestors at Jantar Mantar and initiated an indefinite hunger strike, garnering support from various political leaders and public figures. Opposition parties have been calling for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over claims of irregularities in competitive exams, including the NEET-UG controversy and issues related to the National Testing Agency (NTA).


Health Update on Sonam Wangchuk

Reports indicate that Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 17 days, during which he has lost 8.5 kg, and his blood pressure has decreased. His health has worsened since the start of the strike, yet Sonam remains resolute in continuing his protest.
