According to reports from PTI, a Delhi court has provided temporary relief to Sapna in her domestic violence case against her husband. This decision came after she appealed to the Mahila Court, detailing instances of mistreatment, including occurrences in public settings. She informed the court that she had left their shared residence and had filed for protection under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Her lawyer emphasized the urgency of the situation to safeguard Sapna's public and professional life. After reviewing her petition and supporting documents, the court issued summons and granted her temporary protection.
The court has explicitly stated that the respondent (Sahu) is prohibited from approaching Sapna in any form until the next hearing. He is barred from contacting her, visiting her home or workplace, and from any acts of domestic violence. Furthermore, the court has directed the Protection Officer and local police to ensure compliance with its orders and to assist Sapna as necessary. The next hearing is scheduled for July 25.
