Excitement Builds for the 70th Filmfare Awards South


Mumbai, Feb 20: Actress Sanya Malhotra is brimming with enthusiasm as she prepares for her inaugural performance at the Filmfare Awards.


The 70th Filmfare Awards South, in collaboration with Kerala Tourism, is just around the corner, and the lineup of performers and hosts has been revealed. This grand event promises to be a spectacular homage to cinema, showcasing remarkable performances from the Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industries.


Among the stars set to dazzle the audience are Sanya Malhotra, Nidhhi Agerwal, Pranitha Subhash, Aparna Balamurali, and Trisha Shetty, among others.


The hosting duties will be handled by Vishnu Warrier, RJ Mithun, and Ranjini Haridas, adding to the excitement of the evening.


Expressing her joy about this significant occasion, Sanya stated, “Performing at the 70th Filmfare Awards South is incredibly special for me—especially since it’s my first time on a Filmfare stage. This project had its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.


Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi under Saffron Magicworks, the film's script, inspired by true events, has been penned by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee.


“Bandar” narrates the story of Samar (played by Bobby Deol), an aging television star grappling with the challenge of maintaining his celebrity status.


The film is expected to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
