Samay Raina's Tour Announcement

After facing intense scrutiny on social media and being embroiled in the controversy surrounding 'India’s Got Latent', comedian Samay Raina has revealed plans for a global tour. This tour will take him across the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

On Tuesday, Samay shared the tour details via Instagram, stating that it will commence on June 5 in Cologne and conclude on July 20 in Sydney. The announcement generated significant excitement, leading to a temporary crash of ticketing platforms. He humorously noted in an Instagram story, 'We have crashed the ticketing websites, should be fine in a bit guys.'

Highlights from Recent Performances

In addition to the tour announcement, Samay posted a montage showcasing clips from his recent performances in the US and Canada, where he continued to entertain despite the surrounding controversy. The video highlights his dedicated fan base, snippets of his comedic work, and the challenges he faced, along with information about his upcoming shows.

The Controversy Explained

The controversy erupted when YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and influencer Apoorva Mukhija appeared on Samay's dark humor show, 'India’s Got Latent'. Ranveer's provocative question to a contestant sparked outrage: 'Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or join in once and stop it forever?' Additionally, comments made by Apoorva further fueled the backlash.

This led to widespread calls for the cancellation of 'India’s Got Latent' and Ranveer's podcasts. Complaints were lodged with the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, alleging the use of abusive language during the show.

The All Indian Cine Workers’ Associations (AICWA) even sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging a ban on 'India’s Got Latent' and legal action against its creators.

Samay's Resilience

In a series of Instagram stories, Samay reflected on the challenges he faced, stating, 'The most testing time of my life makes for the best comedy, I’ll see you on tour.'
