Salman Khan's Plea to Students Amid NEET Protests
Mumbai: On Thursday, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reached out to students who have been protesting against the NEET paper leak, encouraging them to return home. He expressed his belief that the government would take decisive action against those responsible for the incident.
In a recent post on X, Khan emphasized that the safety and education of students should be prioritized, urging them not to be concerned.
He stated, "Students are our top priority in terms of education and security, so there’s no need for them to worry or cause their parents distress. The Honorable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am confident he will ensure strict measures against those accountable for this leak. Therefore, students, please return to your families and homes."
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of fast-track courts aimed at delivering prompt and severe penalties for individuals involved in paper leaks, asserting that "nothing is more crucial than the welfare and future of our youth."
In his message, Salman also called upon activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk to conclude his indefinite hunger strike.
"Sonam, it’s enough now. Don’t prolong this. Save your energy for another day if necessary, which I doubt, and please eat something. If you want, I can send you food from home," he added.

Since June 20, students, led by the Cockroach Janata Party, have been demonstrating at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to alleged NEET examination irregularities, reforms in the examination system, and justice for those impacted by the paper leaks.
The protests, which have attracted thousands of students and young individuals to the national capital, gained traction after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the cause with an indefinite hunger strike.
On Wednesday, Khan expressed his support for the students' movement, labeling the alleged paper leak as a "very serious issue" and showing empathy for those injured during the protests.
He commended the students for maintaining a peaceful demonstration and cautioned against the issue being politically exploited, asserting that the credit belongs solely to the students.
Khan also expressed hope that the government would enhance the education system and address the students' concerns.
Numerous film personalities, including Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj, Rajkummar Rao, Revathy, Tovino Thomas, Anurag Kashyap, and Arijit Singh, have shown their support for the protests.
