Salman Khan to Star in War Drama on Galwan Valley Clash
Salman Khan Takes on a New Role
Following the disappointing box office results of 'Sikandar', Bollywood icon Salman Khan is set to embark on a new project—a war drama centered around the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, a significant military confrontation between India and China, as reported by a media outlet.
This film will be a milestone for Salman, as it marks his debut portraying an army officer in a substantial role. According to insiders, filming is scheduled to commence in July 2025, with locations in Ladakh and Mumbai over a span of 70 days. Salman will be joined by three younger actors in this venture.
Sources indicate that director Apoorva Lakhia is currently conducting a thorough reconnaissance in Ladakh and is in the process of finalizing key production team members. The film is on track to start shooting in July 2025, barring any unforeseen changes. Salman is enthusiastic about the script, believing it has the potential for a compelling cinematic experience. He has consistently supported Lakhia's vision for an authentic portrayal of the real-life events, with casting for additional key roles expected to begin soon.
The film aims to combine actual location shoots with elaborate recreations at a studio in Mumbai, enhancing the storytelling experience.
Salman's recent appearance was in 'Sikandar', an action drama directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film featured a star-studded cast, including Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal, but unfortunately, it did not perform well commercially, concluding its theatrical run with an estimated global gross of ₹184.89 crores.
