Salman Khan to Kick Off Season Three of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix

The Return of The Great Indian Kapil Show

The highly anticipated third season of The Great Indian Kapil Show is set to premiere on Netflix. The streaming platform has released its first teaser, featuring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as the inaugural guest. In the teaser, Salman humorously reflects on the reception of his film 'Sikandar' and shares a light-hearted jab about Aamir Khan's marital status.

In one segment, Salman inquires of his impersonator whether the film's performance has impacted their work, asking, 'Is everything going well? Did Sikandar affect your business in any way?'

Kapil Sharma later engages Salman in a discussion about his relationships, referencing how Aamir Khan introduced his partner Gauri. Salman quips, 'Aamir's situation is different. He’s a perfectionist, so until he perfects marriage…'

Netflix shared the promo with the tagline, 'Sikandar's swag + Kapil's timing = BLOCKBUSTER. The Great Indian Kapil Show is back, and every Funnyvaar, our family will grow. Tune in for the first episode on June 21 at 8 PM, every Saturday, exclusively on Netflix.'

Returning Cast and Insights

Alongside Kapil, familiar faces such as Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, and Kiki Sharda are confirmed to return for this season.

In a recent conversation with a media outlet, Archana discussed Kapil's humor, noting that even she is sometimes unsure of her role on the show. She remarked, 'It has become a running joke. Kapil jokes about everything, and while people take it seriously, I understand that the goal is to deliver a punchline, get a laugh, and move on.'

She further elaborated, 'I am compensated to judge a comedy show, which is how I began with Comedy Circus. Now, I’m not judging Kapil’s show but rather acting as a celebrity guest. I’m not even sure what my role is. Kapil just keeps joking. How am I being paid to laugh? In a sense, I’m being paid to enjoy the show, and my loud, spontaneous laughter translates to me being paid to laugh.'
