Since his entry into Bollywood with the film Parampara, directed by Yash Chopra, Saif Ali Khan has made significant strides in his career. More than thirty years later, he continues to thrive in the industry, earning accolades for his roles in Dil Chahta Hai and Omkara. In his forthcoming film, Kartavya, he portrays a police officer named Pawan Malik. In a recent conversation, Saif expressed that his late father, the cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, would be overjoyed to see his son’s success in acting, and his response might surprise you!
Saif Ali Khan's Thoughts on His Father's Pride
During an interview with Zoom, Saif reflected on his journey in the film industry, stating, "I am content with what I have achieved. It surpasses my expectations. My father would be incredibly happy that I am not seeking financial support from him. He would be thrilled; it’s a dream for every father." He chuckled, adding, "This is my dream." Saif has two older children from his previous marriage to actress Amrita Singh: Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, both of whom have ventured into the film industry. He is also the father of Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan with his current wife, Kareena Kapoor. Taimur is nine years old, while Jeh is five. Saif elaborated, "The dream is for them to be successful and independent." Sara made her acting debut in 2018 with Kedarnath, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, while Ibrahim's first film, Nadaaniyan, is set to release in 2025. He previously portrayed a younger version of Saif in Tashan (2008).
Upcoming Projects for Saif Ali Khan
In addition to the release of Kartavya on Netflix on May 15, Saif will reunite with Akshay Kumar after 17 years in Priyadarshan's action-thriller Haiwaan. The film features Asrani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Saiyami Kher, with Mohanlal making a cameo appearance. Saif also has another Netflix project lined up, the period drama Hum Hindustani, which is set to debut this year. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Hum Hindustani tells the story of officials who played a crucial role in conducting India's first elections under challenging circumstances. Set in 1950 and inspired by real events, the film also stars Pratik Gandhi and Deepak Dobriyal, and is produced by Nikkhil Advani, known for the historical drama Freedom at Midnight.
