Rupali Ganguly Claps Back at Dhruv Rathee
Rupali Ganguly recently expressed her views on X, previously known as Twitter, in response to a controversial tweet by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The star of Anupamaa emphasized that PM Modi is 'one of the most respected and honored leaders globally today'. She criticized Rathee for 'mocking, belittling, and spreading fear about the very nation that has given him prominence'. Rathee's tweet contained disparaging comments about the Prime Minister.
Rupali Ganguly Takes a Stand Against Dhruv Rathee
In his latest post on X, Rathee urged foreign journalists to 'embarrass' PM Modi and hold him accountable, making several derogatory remarks about the Prime Minister. This did not sit well with Rupali Ganguly and many other Indians. While numerous users condemned Rathee's comments, Rupali's response was particularly pointed. She remarked, "It's amusing to hear the term 'humiliation' directed at our Prime Minister, a leader who is consistently honored with prestigious awards from various countries. My PM is among the most respected leaders worldwide, and he is the democratically elected head of the largest democracy on the planet."
She further added, "He has been winning democratic elections for over 25 years, first as a Chief Minister and now as Prime Minister. The love, admiration, and trust millions of us have for him are beyond words." In the latter part of her message, Rupali criticized Rathee for his ongoing negative commentary about India and its leaders. "As for India's progress, we Indians can handle that ourselves. Over 1.4 billion of us are capable of determining what is best for our nation. We don't require a YouTuber, who is out of touch with India's realities, to act as our spokesperson while he builds his career on mocking and criticizing the very country that has made him relevant," she stated.
Prior to Rupali's remarks, Dhruv faced backlash from Gul Panag, who also criticized him for his inappropriate tweet. On May 19, Rathee took to social media to not only criticize PM Modi but also claimed that 'he fails to meet the basic standards of transparency and accountability expected from a leader.'
