Rupali Ganguly Claps Back at YouTuber Dhruv Rathee's Criticism of PM Modi
Rupali Ganguly's Strong Stand Against Dhruv Rathee
Rupali Ganguly recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to a controversial tweet by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The star of Anupamaa emphasized that PM Modi is 'one of the most respected leaders globally today'. She criticized Rathee for 'mocking, belittling, and spreading fear about the very nation that has contributed to his success'. Rathee's tweet included disparaging remarks about the Prime Minister, which sparked significant backlash.
Rupali Ganguly's Response to Controversy
In his recent post on X, Rathee called on international journalists to 'shame' PM Modi and hold him accountable, making several inappropriate comments in the process. His statements did not sit well with Rupali Ganguly and many other Indians.
While Rathee faced criticism from various users for his remarks, Rupali's response was particularly pointed. She remarked, "It's quite ironic to hear the term 'humiliation' directed at our Prime Minister, who is consistently honored by nations around the world with their highest civilian awards. My PM is among the most respected leaders globally, and he is the democratically elected leader of the world's largest democracy."
She continued, "He has been winning democratic elections for over 25 years, first as a Chief Minister and now as Prime Minister. Words cannot capture the depth of admiration and trust millions of us have for him."
In her concluding remarks, Rupali criticized Rathee for his persistent negative commentary about India and its leaders. "As for India's progress, that is for us Indians to decide. Over 1.4 billion of us are capable of determining what is best for our nation. We do not need a YouTuber, who is disconnected from India's realities, pretending to represent us while building his career on mocking and criticizing the very nation that has made him significant," she stated in her tweet.
Before Rupali's response, Dhruv had already faced backlash from Gul Panag, who also condemned his tweet for being inappropriate.
For context, on May 19, Dhruv took to social media to criticize PM Modi, claiming that 'he does not meet the basic standards of transparency and accountability expected from a leader'.
