Roman Reigns Set to Star in Upcoming Action-Comedy Film on Prime Video
Roman Reigns' New Movie Announcement
Roman Reigns is preparing for his next cinematic role, which is set to debut on an OTT platform this summer. As per the latest information from Amazon MGM, he will star in an action-comedy titled The Pickup, which is scheduled to launch on Prime Video on August 6.
In addition to Reigns, the film features notable actors such as Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, and Pete Davidson. Following his defeat to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 last year, the former WWE Champion took a break from wrestling to focus on this film project. He made his return to WWE during SummerSlam 2024, where he began a rivalry with Solo Sikoa’s New Bloodline.

The Pickup, directed by Tim Story, follows a seemingly ordinary cash pickup that spirals into chaos when two mismatched armored truck drivers, Russell (played by Murphy) and Travis (played by Davidson), find themselves ambushed by criminals led by a cunning mastermind named Zoe (portrayed by Palmer). The situation escalates beyond just the cash they are transporting, leading to unexpected turmoil.
The screenplay is crafted by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, and the cast also includes Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova. The production team features John Davis, John Fox, Murphy, Story, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster as producers.
Future Projects for Roman Reigns
Previous reports have indicated that Roman Reigns is also set to appear in a live-action adaptation of the Street Fighter movie, which will feature stars like Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, and Noah Centineo. This project is based on the beloved Capcom video game series and is currently in discussions for casting.
Roman Reigns was last seen on WWE programming during the Raw episode following WrestleMania 41, where he faced an attack from Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins after being betrayed by Paul Heyman. His image is featured on the official poster for WWE Summerslam 2025, suggesting a potential return to WWE events soon. Additionally, he is expected to appear at the Money in the Bank event next weekend in Los Angeles.
