Rohit Shetty Faces New Threat: Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Demands ₹20 Crore
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty Under Threat Again
Mumbai: Following a shooting incident at his residence in Juhu, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has reportedly received a new threat from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding an extortion payment of ₹20 crore.
The threat was conveyed through an audio message, where the sender warned that if Shetty does not comply, he would be directly targeted this time.
In the audio, it was stated that the earlier shooting at Shetty's home was merely a preview, and failure to pay would result in actual harm to the filmmaker.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has explicitly instructed Shetty to pay the ₹20 crore extortion fee.
According to police reports, Shetty's staff discovered a 90-second audio clip on Saturday morning. This clip is believed to feature Shubham Lonkar, a close associate of Lawrence, who is wanted for the 2024 murder of political figure Baba Siddiqui, as well as the shooting incident at Shetty's home in February 2026.
A representative from the Mumbai Crime Branch indicated that Shetty's team has submitted the audio to law enforcement. Initial investigations suggest that the voice in the recording matches that of Shubham Lonkar, and the clip is currently undergoing forensic analysis.
To recall, in February, five bullets were fired outside Rohit Shetty’s residence near Hasya Kalakar Mehmood Chowk.
The Lawrence gang claimed responsibility for that attack.
The shooter, identified as Deepak Sharma, was apprehended in Agra shortly after the incident.
In April, the Mumbai Crime Branch filed a comprehensive 1,624-page charge sheet regarding the shooting, naming 15 individuals, with Pravin Lonkar and Aarzo Bishnoi listed as fugitives.
