RJ Balaji's 'Karuppu' Gains Momentum at the Box Office
Box Office Performance of 'Karuppu'
After a challenging debut on Thursday, May 14, RJ Balaji's Karuppu is experiencing a strong recovery. The Tamil film officially premiered on May 15 and has since shown impressive growth. Featuring stars Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, Karuppu achieved a remarkable Rs 23.40 crore nett on its second day. Although it may not reach the Rs 100 crore milestone this weekend, it is expected to come very close. Below is a detailed analysis of Karuppu's box office performance in India.
Day 2 Box Office Collection
As reported by Sacnilk, Karuppu experienced a 51% increase in revenue from its opening day. The film garnered Rs 15.5 crore on Friday and an additional Rs 23.4 crore on Saturday, May 15, bringing its total nett collections in India to Rs 38.90 crore. The film is also attracting audiences internationally, earning Rs 10 crore on its second day, with overseas gross reaching Rs 21 crore so far.
If Karuppu had not faced a one-day delay in its release, it would likely have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark by Sunday, May 17. This delay, however, heightened anticipation among fans. Positive word of mouth from both audiences and industry insiders has significantly contributed to the film's success. Additionally, a Telugu version titled Veera Bhadrudu has been released, which is also performing well in Telangana.
