Rishab Shetty, renowned for his award-winning role in Kantara, is set to embody the iconic Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the forthcoming historical drama titled The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Recent updates indicate that the production team has enlisted a prestigious group of international action directors to choreograph the film's extensive battle scenes. International Stunt Team Joins The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

As reported by Variety India, the film's creators have brought on board action director Mark Henson, known for his work on acclaimed series such as Game of Thrones, Vikings, The Witcher, and Gravity. He will collaborate with Vlad Rimburg, recognized for his contributions to The Fate of the Furious, Bloodshot, and Lucifer, along with Craig Macrae, who has experience with Troy: Fall of a City. This talented team aims to deliver battle choreography that meets international standards, reflecting the grandeur of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's legacy.



The film is directed by Sandeep Singh, who has previously produced notable films like Mary Kom, Sarabjit, and PM Narendra Modi. This project marks his debut as a theatrical director, although an official announcement regarding this has yet to be made.


Cast, Budget, and Release Timeline

Initially planned as a single film, the project has now evolved into two parts, with the first installment slated for release in 2028 and the second in 2029. The film is reportedly backed by a budget exceeding Rs 500 crore, with filming primarily taking place in Maharashtra, the historical region of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's kingdom. The cast includes Arjun Rampal as one of the main antagonists, Shefali Shah portraying Rajmata Jijabai, Shivaji Maharaj's mother, and Vivek Oberoi as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.


Rishab Shetty, riding high on the success of the Kantara franchise, is preparing to deliver a performance of similar magnitude and intensity in this historical narrative.



In addition to this project, Rishab Shetty is also set to appear in Jai Hanuman, a sequel to HanuMan, directed by Prashanth Varma. This film features Amritha Aiyer, Rana Daggubati, and Teja Sajja in significant roles, with its release date yet to be confirmed.
