Rick Ross's Son Involved in Disturbing Incident Near University Campus

William Roberts III, the son of the well-known rapper Rick Ross, was reportedly involved in a violent encounter close to Bethune-Cookman University earlier this month. As detailed in a police affidavit, the incident took place on October 11 at the intersection of McLeod Avenue and Weaver Street, where Roberts III claimed he was approached by a 20-year-old man named Don Roberts III.

The affidavit reveals that Roberts III was conversing with a woman when the suspect exited his vehicle and made a comment. Roberts III believed this remark was aimed at the woman, who had a previous connection with the suspect. The situation intensified when the suspect allegedly displayed a tan handgun, aimed it at Roberts III, and threatened him concerning his father.

Assault Details and Legal Actions

The affidavit further claims that the suspect approached Roberts III and struck him on the right side of the head with the firearm. Although the victim experienced minor swelling from the impact, he told the responding officers that he did not need medical assistance. After the incident, Roberts III drove away and returned to his family home, later explaining to authorities that he hesitated to report the event due to fear.

Law enforcement noted that city surveillance cameras did not capture the alleged incident. Despite the absence of video evidence, the suspect was arrested on October 16. Online records show that Don Roberts III is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, along with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

After posting a $50,000 bond, the suspect was released from custody on October 21. An arraignment is set for November 10. Although both individuals share the same last name, it is unclear if they are related. William Roberts III is one of five children of Rick Ross, born in 2005 to the rapper and his former partner, Tia Kemp.
