A New Chapter for Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal

Mumbai: Actress Richa Chadha has shared her excitement about collaborating with her husband, Ali Fazal, for the first time in a new situational comedy directed by Shashie Verma, set in Delhi.

In a statement to the media, Richa expressed that this project offers a fresh perspective as they portray a unique relationship on screen. She remarked, “The screenplay has a natural flow that captivated me instantly. It humorously reflects everyday life without being forced, and beneath the laughter, it conveys significant messages about society and individuals.”

Richa also mentioned her personal connection to the story, recalling her early school years in Delhi. She noted, “Although Ali and I have worked together in the past, we have never depicted a relationship like this. He is a naturally talented performer, and I am eager to explore this new dynamic with him.”

Ali Fazal shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Comedy shines brightest when it feels authentic, not over-the-top. What I appreciate about this film is that every character is relatable, with their own flaws and emotional depth, enhancing the humor.”

He added, “Despite knowing each other professionally for years, this is the first time we are truly paired together, making this experience thrilling. I admire how Shashie sir captures everyday life and translates it into film, so collaborating with him was an easy decision.”

Previously, Richa and Ali appeared together in the beloved Fukrey series, but this will mark their first time as a couple in an untitled comedy produced by Scenework Productions and Giriraj Productions. The film also stars Kumud Mishra in a significant role.

Set against the lively and bustling backdrop of Delhi, the film will be directed by actor-writer-director Shashie Verma. Production is set to begin in the latter half of 2026, with a theatrical release planned for April 2027.
