Jadeja's Experience on the England Tour

The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of England, featuring a mix of young talents and seasoned players like Ravindra Jadeja. With over 80 Test matches under his belt, Jadeja has been a significant figure in the squad. However, following Rohit Sharma's retirement, he has not been appointed as captain or vice-captain. During the second day of the Edgbaston Test, Jadeja narrowly missed out on a century, scoring 89 runs and forming a solid partnership of 203 runs with captain Shubman Gill.

Jadeja Discusses Captaincy and Gill's Performance

After the day's play, Jadeja held a press conference where he acknowledged that his time to take on a captaincy role has passed. Having made his Test debut in 2012, he brings nearly 13 years of experience to the team and is on his fourth tour of England. When asked about his desire to captain the team, Jadeja responded, 'No, that time has gone.'

During the press conference, Jadeja was also asked about Gill's innings. He remarked, 'Honestly, he looks very confident. He doesn't seem to carry the burden of captaincy; he has been given an extra responsibility.'

Jadeja added, 'He is carrying everything with him. I didn't feel he would get out today. He played exceptionally well. While we were batting together, we discussed how we wanted our partnership to be long-lasting and kept communicating with each other.'
