FWICE Withdraws Non-Cooperation Directive Against Ranveer Singh

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has rescinded its non-cooperation order against actor Ranveer Singh following his departure from Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. The film body had previously instructed its members to refrain from collaborating on Singh's upcoming projects. In response, the actor issued a legal notice to the organization. During a press conference on June 3, FWICE President BN Tiwari announced the reversal of the directive, which was initially imposed on May 25 after a complaint was lodged by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

FWICE's Decision to Lift the Directive

As reported, BN Tiwari mentioned that the decision to retract the non-cooperation directive was made after discussions with the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) and the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA). The organization was advised to engage with the producers to ensure that all parties, including producers, directors, and actors, could work without conflict. Tiwari stated, 'No one has won or lost in this matter. Our legal department will respond to his legal notice.'

For context, the complaint regarding Don 3 was referred to FWICE by the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association after the producers claimed that ₹45 crore had already been invested in pre-production. Although Ranveer has not publicly commented on the situation, his team previously released a statement indicating that he prefers to handle 'professional discussions and personal equations' with dignity and respect. Don 3 was officially announced in 2023, with Ranveer initially cast in the lead role, but he later exited the project, leading to uncertainty surrounding its future.

Ranveer Singh's Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Ranveer Singh is expected to appear in Jai Mehta's upcoming film Pralay, although no official announcement has been made yet. His most recent performance was in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where he portrayed Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi. This film marked one of the biggest successes of his career, directed by Aditya Dhar and released in theaters on March 19.

Prior to Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the first installment premiered in theaters on December 5, featuring a star-studded cast including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Sanjay Dutt.
