The Immortals of Meluha is a trilogy by Indian author Amish Tripathi, set in 1900 BC, which reimagines Lord Shiva as a human Tibetan immigrant. In the narrative, Shiva arrives in the utopian empire of Meluha, where he is recognized as the "Neelkanth," a prophesied hero destined to battle the Chandravanshis and safeguard the realm from the malevolent Nagas.

Reports later indicated that Karan Malhotra was working on a screenplay with Tripathi as a creative consultant. Ultimately, in May 2017, Dharma Productions reportedly withdrew from the project after the rights agreement lapsed.
