Support from the Film Community

Ranveer Singh has recently found allies within the film industry following his exit from Don 3. The actor faced backlash and a non-cooperation order from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Veteran actress and CINTAA Vice-President Padmini Kolhapure has publicly expressed her support for him. Her remarks come on the heels of CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon's concerns regarding the lack of communication with the actors' association before FWICE's announcement. This backing from CINTAA leaders is likely to be a significant relief for Ranveer Singh.

CINTAA Supports Ranveer Singh

In a discussion with IANS, Padmini Kolhapure, accompanied by music composer Anu Malik, praised Ranveer and assured that the association would provide assistance whenever needed. "CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as a member. We stand by him and will support him whenever he requires our help," she stated. Although she chose not to delve into the specifics of the ongoing issue, she reiterated that the association is prepared to help Ranveer if he reaches out. "We are here for him, alongside him. If he ever needs us, we are for Ranveer Singh," she affirmed.

Poonam Dhillon's Concerns

Just a day earlier, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon addressed the situation in an interview with HTCity. She revealed that CINTAA had not been informed about the developments, despite Ranveer being a member. Poonam expressed that the association could have intervened and investigated the matter further had they been consulted sooner. She also expressed discomfort with the term 'banning' in relation to Ranveer Singh, describing it as an extreme label for an actor. Poonam praised Ranveer as a hardworking individual and a 'role model' who has achieved success through talent and dedication. She noted that CINTAA only became aware of the situation through media reports, which she deemed an inadequate way to handle an industry dispute involving one of its members.

Background on the Don 3 Controversy

About Ranveer Singh's Don 3 Situation

The controversy began when Ranveer Singh reportedly exited Don 3 just weeks before filming was scheduled to commence. The project, overseen by Farhan Akhtar, was reportedly in advanced stages of preparation when the news broke. Following this, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on May 25, 2026. Reports suggest that this action stemmed from a complaint by Farhan Akhtar, who claimed that the actor's sudden departure led to financial losses of approximately Rs 45 crore for the production. However, FWICE president BN Tiwari has clarified that the federation's intention is not to impose a permanent ban on Ranveer Singh but to hear his side and resolve the issue appropriately.
