Ranveer Singh Faces Threats: Mumbai Crime Branch Issues Look Out Circular
Threats Against Bollywood Star Prompt Police Action
Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch has taken significant steps by issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) for a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who allegedly threatened actor Ranveer Singh and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore. In response to these threats, security measures around the actor have been enhanced as the Anti-Extortion Cell investigates the situation.
An FIR was filed after authorities confirmed a voice message in which the caller introduced himself as Harichandra, also known as Harry Boxer.
According to the Mumbai Police, the LOC was issued against Harry Boxer in relation to the threats made towards Ranveer Singh.
The police had forwarded the threatening voice note, which was sent to Ranveer Singh's manager, to the Punjab and Haryana Police for authentication. The sender, identifying as Harry Boxer, demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore.
Upon receiving information about the threatening message, the Mumbai Police shared it with their counterparts in Punjab and Haryana. Once they verified that the voice matched Harry Boxer’s, an FIR was officially registered.
The Mumbai Cyber Police initiated an FIR against Harry Boxer following a complaint from Ranveer Singh’s manager, Vijay Subramanian. The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Crime Branch.
Reports indicate that the manager received calls from an international number (+340), which is associated with the Virgin Islands. The caller allegedly made threats and demanded money.
In light of these threats, security at Ranveer's home has been increased, and he has been advised to exercise caution during his film shoots.
Sources reveal that Boxer left extensive voice messages warning that if his demands were not met, the repercussions would be felt for “the next seven generations.”
In one of the messages, he purportedly stated: “Ranveer Singh, you reneged on a promise, and now you must either fulfill that commitment or face the consequences. This voice note serves as a warning…”
He also mentioned: “Rohit Shetty and you are on notice… we are alerting the entire Bollywood community… we claim responsibility for the shooting incident that occurred today in Portugal at ‘Marina Grand’ and at Sukhdev’s shop.”
This marks the second FIR against members of the Bishnoi gang, following a shooting incident that took place on February 1 outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence.
So far, the investigation has led to the arrest of 12 individuals, including the alleged shooter Deepak Sharma, who reportedly acted on orders from the Shubham Lonkar group.
