In a previous conversation with a media outlet, Rani expressed her enthusiasm for the film, stating, 'Our goal with Mardaani 3 was to discover a script that elevates the viewing experience of the franchise.' She described the film as 'dark, deadly, and brutal', highlighting its appeal as a leading female-driven action series.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under the YRF banner, the screenplay is crafted by Aayush Gupta, known for his contributions to the Netflix series 'The Railway Men'.
On her recent projects, Rani was last featured in 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway', alongside Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh. This film draws inspiration from the true story of an Indian couple whose children were taken by Norwegian authorities in 2011. Rani received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics) for her performance.
She also earned a National Film Award for her outstanding acting, with the ceremony set for September 23, 2025.
