A Historic Debut for Ramayana: Part One

New Delhi: The cinematic adaptation of the revered Hindu epic, Ramayana: Part One, has made a sensational entry at the global box office, amassing a remarkable ₹155 crore gross on its first day, as announced by the film's producers on Friday.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this film hit theaters worldwide on November 5, featuring a stellar cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana.

According to a press release, the film achieved the highest pre-Diwali opening ever recorded in Indian cinema.

The statement highlighted, "With an impressive start at the global box office, Ramayana has garnered an astonishing ₹155 crore worldwide gross on its opening day, marking the highest Day 1 Pre-Diwali opener in Indian cinema history."

The filmmakers credited the film's strong performance to the enthusiastic audience turnout, noting that theaters experienced significant attendance from the early morning screenings, despite the usual challenges posed by the pre-Diwali season, which often sees a decline in cinema attendance due to festive activities and travel.

Ramayana: Part One is the first of a two-part series based on the Indian epic, produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash's Monster Mind Creations.
