The actor, known for his role in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, mentioned that his close friend Ekta Kapoor had cautioned his wife, Gautami Kapoor, about his romantic history before they wed.
Ram Kapoor Admits to His Playful Past
During an emotional exchange with Shreya Kalra on Lock Upp 2, Ram reflected on his romantic escapades before settling down with Gautami. He openly identified himself as a ‘playboy’ and when questioned about his past relationships, he humorously stated, “After marriage, not a single one. But before marriage, I was a playboy. I can’t count my affairs.”
Ram also recounted a light-hearted anecdote regarding his wedding, revealing that Ekta Kapoor had reached out to Gautami prior to their marriage. She expressed her concerns, asking Gautami if she was sure about marrying him given his past. Ram acknowledged, “Ektaa Kapoor, who is a friend of mine, called Gautami and said, 'Are you really going through with this? He's had many affairs.' I appreciate what Ektaa did because I was indeed like that back then.” He emphasized his deep affection for Gautami, ensuring she feels cherished every day. The couple first met on the set of Ghar Ek Mandir in 2000 and married in 2003, now sharing two children, Sia and Aks.

Upon entering Lock Upp 2, Ram faced backlash for some of his previous comments, including a controversial statement regarding ‘gangrape’. He also mentioned that infidelity should not be a deal breaker in marriage, a view that Akanksha Chamola strongly opposed, asserting that cheating is entirely unacceptable. Additionally, Kangana Ranaut reprimanded him for claiming he was too significant for the show.
