Ram Gopal Varma's Upcoming Crime Thriller 'Police Company' Set for Release
Exciting Developments in Bollywood
Renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is making a notable return to the Bollywood scene with his latest project, 'Police Company.' This film, produced in collaboration with T-Series, has generated significant buzz. Harshvardhan Rane stars in the lead role, portraying the infamous Mumbai encounter specialist, Daya Nayak. The first poster of the film has recently been unveiled, revealing its release date. Inspired by true events, this movie aims to depict the most violent phase of the police's battle against the underworld in Mumbai.
Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, 'Police Company' is a joint venture between Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Varma's own production company. The film promises to offer audiences a glimpse into the darker side of the cult crime drama 'Company.' It is scheduled to hit theaters on June 4 of the upcoming year.
The initial poster showcases four police officers navigating a narrow, rain-soaked street in Mumbai. The dimly lit atmosphere, combined with old buildings and weapons scattered on the wet pavement, sets the stage for a gripping crime thriller.
The film's title is prominently displayed in bold red letters, accompanied by the tagline, 'More dangerous than the D Company.' The poster also notes that between 1997 and 2004, 319 gangsters were eliminated.
In a post accompanying the poster, Varma commented, 'Violence is their expertise. Spreading fear is their method. Pursuing criminals is their job, and they don’t file FIRs; they simply kill to close cases.' He compared this police force to the D Company, asserting that its members are even more perilous than gang employees. The cast includes notable actors such as Harshvardhan Rane, Fardeen Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Paresh Rawal, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
'Police Company' narrates the extraordinary circumstances that led to the elimination of nearly 300 gangsters, drawing inspiration from real-life events and characters. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ram Gopal Varma.
This project has been in the spotlight for quite some time. Harshvardhan Rane has dedicated significant effort to transform his physique for this role, promising a fresh avatar. He has been actively sharing updates about his look and the film's progress on social media.
