Ram Charan's Inspiring Transformation for 'Peddi': A Look at His Diet and Training
Ram Charan's Remarkable Physical Change for 'Peddi'
Ram Charan is undergoing a significant physical transformation for his role in the upcoming sports drama, Peddi. Known for his lean physique, the Telugu star has adopted a rigorous lifestyle and a calorie-restricted diet to portray a wrestler in this film directed by Buchi Babu Sana. His trainer, bodybuilding expert Rakkesh R Uddiyar, shared insights into Ram Charan's meal plan and workout regimen, including what constitutes his cheat meals. In a recent interview, he discussed the allowance of a cheat meal once a week, as the actor is currently following a carb cycling diet for Peddi.
Insights on Ram Charan's Cheat Meal
During the interview, Rakkesh explained the distinction between a cheat meal and a cheat day. While Ram Charan can indulge in his favorite foods, it must still align with his calorie goals. He mentioned, “On Sundays, I permit him to enjoy whatever he desires as his final meal of the day, but it has to be healthy.” For instance, he can have a burger made by his chef, using a multigrain bun crafted from almond flour and high-quality paneer for the patty. “If we’re going to have a cheat meal, let’s ensure it’s nutritious and within the calorie limit,” he added, emphasizing the film's substantial budget allows for such flexibility.
Ram Charan's Rigorous Training Regimen
When discussing Ram Charan's training routine, Rakkesh revealed that the actor begins his day with cardio after a 12-hour intermittent fasting period. He is following a specialized carb cycling diet, alternating between high and low-carb days. His training combines weightlifting, focusing on chest, shoulders, and triceps, along with traditional wrestling training, as he prepares for his role. Rakkesh also mentioned that Ram Charan has personal physiotherapists on set to assist with myofascial release therapy, sourced from Apollo Chennai. “He had his team providing meals throughout the day. My nutritionist would help plan his meals. For example, if he craved dosa in the morning, we would decide on a healthy version, like pesarattu made from moong,” he explained, noting that his daily calorie intake ranged from 1700 to 2200 calories.
Peddi, featuring co-stars Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu, is set to hit theaters on June 4. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Maker, and will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
