Rakesh Bedi's Role in Dhurandhar

Renowned actor Rakesh Bedi portrayed Jameel Jamali in Aditya Dhar's hit films Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His performance has garnered significant attention, with many of his lines becoming popular in social media memes. Despite Dhurandhar achieving remarkable box office success, some viewers have labeled the film as propaganda. Recently, Rakesh shared his perspective on these claims, suggesting that if the film were a documentary, it might not face such scrutiny. He believes the criticism stems from its commercial success.

Rakesh Bedi Addresses Propaganda Allegations

In a recent interview with a media outlet, Rakesh Bedi expressed, "The timing was perfect. Within a few days, comments were pouring in, yet people are still saying the film is housefull. I performed in a theatre in Delhi during the film's release and asked a fan who was gesturing what he meant; he replied he had seen it ten times. Understanding the truth can be challenging, and I find it wrong when events are misrepresented or exaggerated."

He elaborated that he only finds fault when events are inaccurately depicted or blown out of proportion. Bedi emphasized that if the film accurately represented the number of casualties and events using real footage, there should be no reason for anyone to be offended. "You are being told about an incident that actually happened, not something imaginary. So, what's wrong with that? If it were a documentary, people would praise it. But since it's a film making money, they can't accept it, yet there's no lie involved," he stated.
