Despite feeling provoked, Rajpal responded with a smile, saying, “Masla toh sun lo ek baar. Main toh masla hi sunana chahta hoon.” His ability to handle the situation with poise was commendable.
Background of Rajpal Yadav's Legal Issues
Why was Rajpal Yadav arrested earlier this year?
Rajpal and his wife Radha had borrowed around Rs 5 crore in 2010 to finance his directorial project, Ata Pata Laapata. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well, leading to difficulties in repaying the loan. Several cheques issued for repayment were dishonored, resulting in legal action under the Negotiable Instruments Act. The total amount owed, including interest and penalties, ballooned to nearly Rs 9 crore. Rajpal surrendered to Tihar Jail and was released on February 16 after the Delhi High Court granted him interim relief. The legal proceedings are ongoing.
