In a recent conversation with the Bombay Times, Radha Yadav refuted claims that Rajpal had been released. These rumors gained traction after an old video surfaced online, showing Rajpal expressing gratitude to Salman Khan, which led many to believe he had been freed.

Current Status and Future Hopes

Radha Yadav mentioned, "Currently, he (Rajpal Yadav) is still in Tihar Jail. The hearing for his bail application is set for Monday (February 16th)." When inquired about his well-being, she reassured, "As far as I know, he is doing fine."

Expressing optimism, Radha added, "We are hopeful he will be released soon. That’s all I can share for now. Once Rajpal ji is out, he will be able to address the media and clarify everything further."

Background of the Case

To provide context, Rajpal Yadav is involved in a cheque bounce case amounting to Rs 9 crore. In 2010, he borrowed Rs 5 crore for his directorial debut, 'Aata Pata Lapata'. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office, preventing him from repaying the loan. Consequently, the case escalated to court, and the total amount owed, including interest, reached around Rs 9 crore. After failing to settle the debt, he surrendered to Tihar Jail on February 5th and has remained incarcerated since.
