New Delhi/Mumbai, February 21, 2026: Renowned Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the Delhi High Court on February 5, 2026, in connection with a cheque bounce case worth ₹9 crores. Following his surrender, he was sent to Tihar Jail, where he spent approximately 12 days. The Delhi High Court granted him interim bail on February 16-17, allowing him to be released until March 18. After his release, Rajpal headed straight to his village in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to attend his niece's wedding, where videos of him dancing with family have gone viral on social media.


In a conversation with the media post-release, Rajpal shared insights about his time in Tihar Jail. He described his daily routine as similar to that of other inmates, which included morning yoga and exercise, reading, and socializing with fellow prisoners. He remarked, “The hardest part of being in jail was being away from my family. There were nights when I struggled to sleep due to homesickness. However, I kept myself occupied and trusted the legal process.”


Rajpal's wife, Radha Yadav, also spoke emotionally during an interview. She mentioned, “Sometimes he would break down while talking on the phone, but he never lost hope. He was fine in jail, but being separated from family was the greatest pain. Many in the film industry, including Salman Khan, Sonu Sood, and Ajay Devgn, offered their support, for which we are very grateful. Whether public or private, everyone stood by us.”
