Rajpal Yadav Faces Legal Challenges Amid Cheque Bounce Case
Rajpal Yadav's Legal Troubles Intensify
Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who was released from Tihar Jail in February following a cheque bounce case involving Rs 9 crore, is now facing renewed legal challenges. His release came after he deposited Rs 1.5 crore with the complainant, citing a family wedding as the reason for his bail request. However, despite this temporary reprieve, the situation appears to be escalating. Reports indicate that Yadav is currently dealing with over 21 legal cases against him, and he has publicly stated that he would prefer to serve time in jail rather than make the payment.
New Developments in Rajpal Yadav's Cheque Bounce Case
In a recent video shared by a news agency on their official X account, Avnit Singh Sikka, the counsel for the complainant M/s Murli Projects Private Limited, revealed that the case was brought before the court for final arguments. Both parties presented their cases, and the court seemed to be persuaded by the arguments made. Yadav participated in the hearing virtually and was given a final opportunity to settle the matter, which was emphasized as a chance to resolve the ongoing dispute.
During the proceedings, Yadav initially agreed to settle the case based on the terms proposed by the court. However, when the judge inquired about the payment method, he reversed his position, expressing a willingness to go to jail instead. He claimed to have already made the payment previously and mentioned his past incarceration. Sikka noted that Yadav is facing 21 pending cases, and the court is expected to announce its decision regarding his sentence soon.

Background of Rajpal Yadav's Cheque Bounce Case
The legal troubles for Rajpal Yadav began in 2010 when he borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd for his film Ata Pata Laapata. Following the film's failure, a cheque bounce case was filed against him, resulting in his conviction in 2018 and a six-month prison sentence, which was upheld in 2019. The total amount owed has since escalated to nearly Rs 9 crore. He was granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court after depositing Rs 1.5 crore, along with a bond of Rs 1 lakh and surety. On the professional front, Yadav is set to appear in Priyadarshan's upcoming horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, featuring Akshay Kumar.
