Rajkumar Hirani Ventures into OTT with 'Pritam and Pedro'

Rajkumar Hirani, the acclaimed director known for his work in Bollywood, is stepping into the world of OTT. His upcoming web series, *Pritam and Pedro*, marks his debut in this digital space, with the trailer recently unveiled.

This series not only signifies Hirani's first foray into OTT but also features his son, Veer, who is taking on an acting role after previously portraying 'Chhota Circuit' in *Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.*. During the trailer launch, Hirani shared the inspiration behind the series, which focuses on cybercrime.

**Inspiration from the Mumbai Cyber Cell**
At the trailer launch event, Hirani disclosed that the concept for the series emerged during the lockdown. He recounted, "I received a call from the chief of the Mumbai Cyber Cell during COVID. They were interested in making a film about cybercrime, but no one was addressing the topic. I suggested they share their ideas with me, and I could develop it from home."

Hirani further mentioned, "It was during this period that I met Amit Dubey, who provided me with a collection of his short stories, filled with concepts suitable for adaptation into short films."

**Veer Hirani's Acting Debut**
In this cybercrime series, Veer Hirani is poised to make his acting debut. He previously appeared as 'Chhota Circuit' alongside Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in *Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.*. The cast also includes notable actors such as Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Mona Singh, and Vikrant Massey, who will portray a negative character once again after his role in *Sector 36*. The series is set to premiere on Jio Hotstar on July 3.
