Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan Team Up Again

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are set to reunite for the film Dharman, formerly known as Thalaivar 173. This time, the duo will collaborate with Rajinikanth taking on the role of an actor while Kamal Haasan serves as the producer. The film's title and additional details were revealed during a grand launch event held in Chennai on June 24. The promotional poster for Dharman features Rajinikanth in a striking 'deadly' doctor persona. The leading actresses for the film are Simran and Raashii Khanna, while Ashwath Marimuthu, known for directing Oh My Kadavule and Dragon, has been announced as the director. At the launch, Rajinikanth discussed the reasons behind the film's multiple directorial changes.

Challenges with Directorial Changes

Why Did Dharman Experience Multiple Directors?

Rajinikanth addressed the frequent changes in directors for Dharman, noting that Ashwath Marimuthu is the fourth director to take on the project. During the event in Chennai, he recounted the film's journey, explaining that KS Ravikumar was initially set to direct, but plans fell through. Sundar C later took over, but due to other obligations, he had to withdraw, causing further delays. Cibi Chakravarthy then joined the project, but Rajinikanth mentioned that the story, which revolves around a nuclear scientist and nuclear weapons, was sensitive and complex, leading to its postponement. Ultimately, Ashwath Marimuthu was brought in to lead the film.
