Qatar's Strong Response to Iranian Missile Threats: A Call for Dialogue
Qatar Condemns Iranian Missile Attacks
Doha: Qatar has expressed strong disapproval of the recent missile attacks targeting its territory and those of neighboring states by Iran, labeling it an "unacceptable escalation." The Qatari government has asserted its right to respond appropriately.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar condemned the missile strikes as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability in the region.
The statement emphasized that Qatar reserves the right to respond in accordance with international law, ensuring that any action taken is proportional to the aggression faced, aimed at protecting its national interests.
Qatar has consistently advocated for dialogue with Iran, viewing it as the best approach to resolving disputes peacefully and avoiding further escalation in the region.
The Ministry reiterated that such attacks contradict the principles of good neighborliness and cannot be justified. Qatar has always sought to remain neutral in regional conflicts and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community.
Additionally, Qatar condemned the violations of sovereignty faced by Kuwait, the UAE, Jordan, and Bahrain, expressing solidarity with these nations in their efforts to maintain security and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions and urged a return to dialogue, emphasizing the need for reason and wisdom to resolve the crisis and prevent broader conflicts.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the initiation of "major combat operations" in Iran, marking a significant escalation in tensions that raises concerns about a wider regional conflict.
