Preity Zinta Addresses Morphed Images

Bollywood actress and co-owner of the Punjab Kings IPL franchise, Preity Zinta, has spoken out against altered images that recently circulated online, showing her in an embrace with Rajasthan Royals' young cricketer, Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

The controversy ignited on Monday when a video and several photos began trending on social media, particularly one image that depicted Preity hugging the teen cricketer, which garnered significant attention.

In response, Zinta quickly refuted the claims by taking to her social media platforms. She shared a news article featuring the manipulated image, stating, 'This is a morphed image and fake news. I am quite surprised that news channels are also using altered images and presenting them as news.'

Previously, the official X account of Rajasthan Royals shared a video showing Preity interacting with Vaibhav, captioned, 'Flex levels at school: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.'

In the footage, Preity is seen conversing with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal before expressing her desire to meet the 14-year-old Vaibhav, saying, 'Come, let’s go say hi to him.' After a brief exchange, Vaibhav shakes her hand, but the video does not depict any hugging.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old cricketer from Maharashtra, is currently part of the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. The franchise made headlines during the IPL 2024 auction by signing him for INR 1.10 crore when he was just 13. After modest scores of 34 and 16 in his initial matches, he made a notable impact against the Gujarat Titans. Suryavanshi has also represented India at the U19 level.
